QUARMEN is a two-year international master’s programme in physics focused on quantum science and technology. A consortium of four universities delivers academic study, compulsory international mobility and research-oriented training.
For the 2026–2028 cohort, students study in Italy, France and Portugal; Toronto mobility is unavailable for that cohort. Graduates receive double or multiple Master’s in Physics diplomas from the universities where they studied.
Benefits & funding
- Erasmus Mundus scholarships are not available for the 2026–2028 cohort.
- About 10 QUARMEN partial scholarships per year waive tuition fees.
- About three Paris-Saclay scholarships per year provide €7,500 in year one and €10,000 in year two, plus reimbursement of up to €1,000 for travel and visa costs; these awards do not waive tuition fees.
- The six-month semester-four internship linked to the Paris-Saclay route is paid at approximately €650 per month minimum.
- Quantum Saclay support for semesters two and three is €600 per month for students coming from France and €1,000 per month for international students, subject to a Paris-Saclay-area quantum internship commitment.
Eligibility
- Applicants must hold or be completing a 180-ECTS Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in physics or a closely related field. Related degrees must include substantial core physics study, including foundational experimental, theoretical, mathematical, condensed-matter and quantum physics.
- Applicants whose previous institution did not teach in English must provide TOEFL, IELTS or an accepted Cambridge English certificate; the published minimums include TOEFL iBT 82 and IELTS 6.0.
- The programme recruits internationally and states no overall nationality restriction. Students must complete study in at least two countries different from their country of residence.
- The Paris-Saclay scholarship has separate conditions: applicants must be newly arrived international students aged 30 or under, must not have interrupted study for more than three years, must study at Paris-Saclay in semesters two and three, and must complete the internship in the Paris-Saclay area. These conditions are not general admission gates.

- 2Upload a CV and cover letter of no more than two pages each, official transcripts, the most recent degree certificate if available, identification, proof of English proficiency where required and proof of residence.
