Official Page

Programme PHC Galilée is a bilateral scientific-cooperation program supporting new collaborations between research laboratories in France and Italy. It is established by the relevant French and Italian ministries, with UFI/UIF managing the Italian side and Campus France and the French Embassy in Rome managing the French side.

The 2027 call supports reciprocal research-team mobility from 1 January 2027 through 31 December 2028. It particularly seeks meaningful participation by early-career researchers, including doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.

Benefits & funding

  • Funding runs for two consecutive years and supports mobility rather than the underlying research itself.
  • For French participants, eligible support covers subsistence at EUR 180 per day and actual France–Italy return travel costs up to EUR 400 per trip.
  • As an indication only, French participants received EUR 3,888 per project per year in 2025; the annual amount may change.
  • The Italian and French groups are financed separately by their respective program administrators.

Eligibility

  • Applications must come from research laboratories attached to higher-education institutions or research organizations in France and Italy.
  • Companies may join when associated with a French academic partner.
  • The French and Italian research partners must submit the same project to the responsible platform in their own country.
  • A project led by the same principal investigator with the same partner is ineligible if it received program funding during the previous five years.
  • All research fields were eligible for the 2027 call; the program states no nationality, residency, age, gender, degree, or work-experience requirement for individual team members.
