The Research Scholarship Program is one of the short-term Türkiye Scholarships, Türkiye’s government scholarship scheme. It brings international researchers and academics to Türkiye’s leading universities to work on joint research with Turkish academics, in any field.
Stays last 3 to 12 months. Applications are accepted all year through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS) and assessed in four rounds.
Benefits & funding
- Monthly stipend of 37,000 TL (Türkiye Scholarships page); swissuniversities still lists 25,000 TL.
- Stipend only: transport, accommodation and health insurance are not covered.
- 3 to 12 months; the Research Committee may approve 1 extra month (stays up to 6 months) or 2 (stays up to 12 months).
Eligibility
- PhD holders, PhD candidates at the dissertation stage, researchers and academic staff, in any field.
- Under 50 years of age.
- Open to citizens of every country except Türkiye; people who have lost Turkish citizenship are also barred.
