Fundación Carolina and BBVA fund master’s places in Spain for Mexicans who came through Chavos que inspiran, the scholarship programme run by Fundación BBVA México. Its best-performing alumni can go on to a master’s degree.
The 2026 call offered one scholarship on each of five master’s programmes: computing and intelligent systems (Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao), economic development and public policy (UAM), big data (UC3M), banking and financial regulation (Universidad de Navarra) and data science and AI (Afi), the last four in Madrid.
Benefits & funding
- Full tuition, from €5,078.97 (UAM) to €24,900.30 (Navarra) in the 2026 call.
- €900 a month for housing and living costs while in Spain.
- A return economy flight to Spain and medical insurance (not pharmacy).
- 9–12 months, September 2026 to June–August 2027 depending on the master’s.

- English: B1 (UAM), B2 (UC3M), TOEFL iBT 87 or Cambridge C1 for Navarra’s master’s, taught fully in English.
- Afi also asks for R, Python, SQL and cloud skills and sets its own admission tests.
