COLFUTURO’s Programa Crédito Beca finances Colombian professionals pursuing an in-person, full-time master’s degree, doctorate or medical specialty at a high-quality university abroad. Applicants choose their field, programme and institution, and selected candidates may allocate the approved financing across eligible study and living costs.
The 2026 application cycle has closed. The official 2027 calendar says applications will open on January 4, close on March 4 and produce results on May 18.
Benefits & funding
- A repayable loan of up to USD 50,000 may cover tuition, insurance, airfare, initial installation, materials and living costs.
- Twenty-five percent of the amount can become a scholarship after the recipient graduates, returns to Colombia and remains there for 36 months.
- Recipients receive a 12-month grace period after completing their studies before repayments begin.
- Selected candidates may also qualify for separate tuition support from more than 130 partner universities, with published discounts ranging from 10% to 100%.

- The proposed programme must be an in-person, full-time master’s degree, doctorate or medical specialty abroad lasting 9–24 months.
- Applicants must identify the programme they intend to pursue and submit the required essay.
- Second-language proficiency is certified only after selection and before the postgraduate programme starts.
- No age, gender, work-experience or current-residency requirement is published.
