The prize recognises exceptional doctoral theses completed under French-Italian cotutelle by former beneficiaries of UFI/UIF’s Vinci Chapters II or III. The Executive Council selects work from all disciplines, with one award in humanities and social sciences and one in sciences and technologies. The 2026 competition is closed.
The French secretariat in Grenoble administers the call within the binational UFI/UIF structure, which also has a secretariat in Turin. The award supports publication or completion of the submitted work.
Benefits & funding
- Two selected doctoral graduates normally receive €1,500 each.
- The money covers publication or completion costs; subject to a suitable collection and publisher approval, a winner may instead have the work published by UGA Éditions.
- The Executive Council may select additional winners if more funds become available.
Eligibility
- Applicants must already have received UFI/UIF Vinci funding under Chapter II or III.
- For the 2026 cycle, applicants must have defended a French-Italian cotutelle doctorate between 14 January 2024 and 13 March 2026.
- All academic disciplines are eligible.
- The call states no nationality, residency, age, gender, or work-experience restriction.

- 2Upload the thesis and related publication list, a pre-defence report, defence record or jury-chair assessment, a non-specialist thesis summary of no more than two pages, and a CV, all as PDFs.
- 3Write supporting documents in Italian, French, or English; if the thesis exceeds the platform limit, send a download link to the stated secretariat email.
- 4Submit the online application by the published deadline.
