O’Shaughnessy Fellowships & Grants

Benefits & funding

• Each Fellow receives $100,000 for a twelve-month project.
• Up to twenty Grantees receive at least $10,000 each.
• Awards require no equity, debt or dilution, and recipients retain ownership of their work.
• Fellows and Grantees may receive access to OSV’s network, experts and community events.

Eligibility

• Anyone may apply, from anywhere in the world.
• OSV describes the program as open to adults worldwide, and reports that last year’s youngest applicant was thirteen and the oldest was in their seventies. No minimum age is stated as a requirement.
• No degree level or academic field is required; current undergraduate, master’s and PhD students may apply without leaving their studies.
• The program is primarily for individuals pursuing an original project.
• Applicants do not need to leave their jobs, although OSV prefers candidates prepared to commit substantial time for one year.
• People building or planning to finance a venture-scale startup with outside investment are directed to OSV’s Infinite Adventures program instead.

Application process

   Review the program page, eligibility FAQ and selection criteria.

   Prepare a concise written pitch explaining the project, intended twelve-month outcome, prior work, timeline and required resources.

   Submit the shared Fellowships & Grants application form before the cycle deadline; Fellowship applicants are automatically considered for a Grant.

   Monitor the submitted email address for an update; OSV says most applicants hear within 30 days.
