The NL Scholarship is a Dutch national award, financed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science together with Dutch universities, each of which runs its own round. This entry covers the Wageningen University & Research (WUR) round.
WUR has 8 scholarships for students from listed non-EEA countries who start an on-campus MSc in Wageningen in September 2027 or February 2028. Admitted candidates are invited to apply; there is no open call.
Benefits & funding
- €5,000 per award; the selection committee may give one student up to three (€5,000, €10,000 or €15,000).
- Not a full scholarship: it cannot meet WUR’s payment requirement, so the full invoice (or another grant letter WUR accepts) is due by 1 July 2027 (September intake) or 1 December 2027 (February intake).
- Paid only after arrival and enrolment, into a Dutch bank account: expected October 2027 (September starters) or March 2028 (February starters).
Eligibility
- Citizen of one of: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States or Vietnam.
- Not eligible with a second nationality from an EU/EEA country.
- GPA of 80% or higher.
- Conditional or unconditional admission to an eligible on-campus WUR MSc; online master’s and Double Degree programmes are excluded.
- No earlier participation in a degree programme in the Netherlands.
