The New Generation Europe Foundation Academy Fellowship is a joint initiative of Chatham House and New Generation Europe Foundation. It supports an early- to mid-career professional to spend ten months with the Russia and Eurasia Programme in London.
The fellow completes a personal research project, joins the leadership programme and contributes to Chatham House research. The 2026–2027 cycle is closed.
Benefits & funding
- A monthly stipend of £2,565 for London accommodation, utilities, food and transport.
- Relocation travel, accommodation support and visa fees, with visa sponsorship if required.
- The UK Immigration Health Surcharge and research expenses for fieldwork, outreach, events and publications.
- Leadership seminars and workshops, media training, writing support, coaching or mentoring, networking and five-year Chatham House membership after completion.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Russian citizens; dual citizens are eligible when one citizenship is Russian.
- Applicants must hold a completed bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have experience conducting research.
- Relevant experience in the proposed research field, proven leadership experience or potential, commitment to Chatham House’s mission and spoken English proficiency are required.
- The fellowship is full-time, so it cannot be combined with other work or study; no age restriction is imposed.

Application process
