Movilidad de profesorado universidades del Grupo Tordesillas is a short postdoctoral stay grant from Fundación Carolina, co-funded with Grupo Tordesillas, a network of Brazilian, Portuguese and Spanish universities.
Faculty with a doctorate at a Brazilian or Portuguese member university spend one to three months at a Spanish member university that has invited them. Applications go through Grupo Tordesillas, never directly to the foundation.
Benefits & funding
- One round-trip economy flight and medical insurance (pharmacy costs excluded).
- €1,200 a month for lodging and living costs: €600 from Grupo Tordesillas, €600 from Fundación Carolina.
- A stay of one to three months between 1 September 2026 and 31 July 2027.
- A 10–30-page final report is due within a month of the stay ending; missing it means repaying the full grant.
- Exclusive dedication: no other grant or pay without the foundation’s approval.
Eligibility
- Citizen of an Ibero-American Community country other than Spain: Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay, Venezuela.
- Holds a doctorate.
- Teaches at a Brazilian or Portuguese Grupo Tordesillas university, with its certified commitment that you return after the stay.
- Not resident in Spain.
- Already invited by the Spanish Tordesillas university where the research will happen; the foundation does not arrange invitations.
- Has not held this grant before.
- An excellent CV and professional experience.

Application process
- 1Secure an invitation from a Spanish Grupo Tordesillas university stating the stay length in months.
- 2Email the scanned documents the page lists, with the invitation, to Grupo Tordesillas by its deadline (23 March in 2026); the foundation takes no direct applications.
- 3Once Grupo Tordesillas registers you, complete the online pre-admission form the foundation emails you.
- 4If selected, send the requested documents by the stated dates; late papers mean exclusion.
