Mobility of sport staff is an Erasmus+ action for the professional development of coaches, volunteers and other staff, primarily in grassroots sport. Eligible sending organisations arrange job shadowing and observation for 2–14 days or coaching and training assignments for 7–45 days in another participating country.
The physical mobility may be blended with virtual learning, but attending a course is not an eligible activity. Individuals cannot apply directly: their sport organisation applies to its National Agency, selects participants and arranges the host placement.
Benefits & funding
- The grant is managed by the sport organisation and supports participant travel and subsistence.
- Organisational support is EUR 350 per participant.
- Travel support ranges from EUR 28 to EUR 1,735 for non-green travel and EUR 56 to EUR 1,735 for green travel, according to distance.
- Individual support is EUR 84–191 per day depending on the receiving-country group; after day 14, the rate is 70% of the applicable base rate.
- Inclusion support provides EUR 125 per participant to the organisation, while approved participant costs linked to fewer opportunities can be covered at 100%.
- A preparatory visit can receive EUR 680 per participant for up to two participants, and eligible linguistic support is EUR 150 per participant.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a public or private organisation active in grassroots sport and physical activity, or a non-grassroots sport organisation whose staff participation benefits grassroots sport.
- The applicant organisation must be established in an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia or Türkiye.
- Eligible participants are coaches, other sport staff and volunteers who work or regularly perform the sending organisation’s core activities; this link must be documented.
- Participants must reside in the country of their sending organisation and travel to another eligible programme country for the activity. No nationality, degree, age or gender requirement is stated.
- Participants cannot take part as athletes, and each project may include no more than 10 mobility participants, excluding preparatory-visit participants and people accompanying participants with fewer opportunities.

Application process
- 1Confirm that the sending organisation and proposed participants meet the eligibility rules and that the relevant National Agency accepts this action.
- 2Define the organisation’s needs, learning outcomes, activity format, host partner, work programme and follow-up plan.
- 3Prepare the KA182-SPO application and submit it through the Erasmus+ application portal to the National Agency in the applicant organisation’s country.
- 4Submit by 12 February at 12:00 Brussels time for the standard round; use 1 October at 12:00 Brussels time only when the National Agency has opened the optional additional round.
- 5If funded, the sending organisation selects participants, documents their link to the organisation and arranges the mobility with the host organisation.
