MIR is an Erasmus Mundus joint master’s integrating marine science, maritime technologies, robotics and AI. The University of Toulon coordinates a consortium of four European university partners.
Students spend the first year at the University of Toulon in France, then choose a second-year track in Spain, Norway or Portugal before completing a research or industry-linked thesis. Graduates receive double master’s degrees from the two partner institutions where they study.

- The latest published 2025/26 intake was self-financed; Erasmus Mundus and Exail scholarships were unavailable.
- Tuition is €4,500 per year for Program Country students and €9,000 per year for Partner Country students.
- Annual fees cover enrollment and tuition, insurance, induction, the annual symposium and robotics championship, plus eligible conference travel and registration.
- Students pay their own accommodation, living, visa and other travel costs.
Eligibility
- Applicants from European and third countries may apply.
- Applicants must hold, by registration in September, a first university degree earned after at least three years and totaling 180 ECTS, including at least 30 ECTS in mathematics-related subjects.
- Applicants must be proficient in one programming language.
- Applicants must demonstrate at least B2 English through an accepted test or a qualifying English-medium degree certificate.
- For the latest self-financed intake, applicants also had to show sufficient means for tuition, living expenses and other program costs.
