The Middle East & North Africa Fellowship is a regional route within the annual NGFP Fellowship, organised by School of International Futures in partnership with Dubai Future Foundation. It supports emerging futures and foresight practitioners whose proposed project will have impact in the MENA region.
Individuals and teams of up to five develop their projects through a one-year learning and collaboration journey. The fellowship is conducted online and connects participants with an international peer network and an experienced project partner.
Benefits & funding
- A USD 1,000 project grant for each selected individual or team.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be nationals of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, or Yemen.
- The proposed project’s impact must be based in the MENA region.
- Applicants must be at least 18. Those aged 18–35 qualify through age; applicants over 35 must have less than one year of futures and foresight experience.
- Individuals or teams of up to five may apply, with one lead applicant for a team.
- No degree or field-of-study requirement is stated. Projects from any sector are accepted, although the programme prioritises specified transformation themes.
- Applicants need sufficient English to communicate comprehensively because the programme is conducted in English.
