Eligibility

• Applicants must be citizens of a country designated by KOICA for the current cycle; KOICA provides the current list through its overseas offices or Korean embassies.
• Applicants must be government officials and receive an official nomination from their government.
• Applicants must meet KOICA and INU qualification criteria, have strong spoken and written English, and be in suitable physical and mental health.
• Being under 40 and having at least two years of relevant experience are preferences, not hard requirements; INU separately gives preference to applicants with more than five years of climate-related work.
• Previous recipients of a Korean-government graduate-degree scholarship are generally ineligible, while a previous bachelor’s scholarship does not bar an application to this master’s program. Former KOICA fellows whose scholarship was cancelled after enrollment are ineligible.

Application process

   Contact the KOICA overseas office or Korean embassy serving the applicant’s country and confirm the local deadline and submission address.

   Obtain the required government nomination and submit the KOICA application package to that office or embassy.

   Complete the KOICA document review and local interview.

   If shortlisted, submit INU’s documents and complete its document review, medical check, interview, and any additional assessment.

   Send original documents as instructed, complete final admission and visa steps, then undergo the final medical check after arrival in Korea.

Program timeline

1. Verified deadline for the Sri Lanka route to the closed 2027 intake; other KOICA offices set their own local deadlines.
