Master of Statistics and Data Science ICP Connect Scholarship

Benefits & funding

• The scholarship covers tuition fees, travel, insurance and living expenses including board and lodging.
• Funding applies for the full two-year programme; partial scholarships and extensions are not available.
• UHasselt states that 10 full scholarships are offered each year for this ICP programme.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be nationals of, and reside at application time in, one of these eligible countries or territories; nationality and residence need not be the same: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Palestinian Territories, Vietnam, Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Nicaragua or Peru.
• Applicants may be no older than 35 on 1 January of the intake year.
• Applicants need at least an academic bachelor’s degree or equivalent 180-ECTS higher-education diploma. International degrees in listed quantitative, scientific, health and social-science fields are assessed individually; applicants from other disciplines need at least one, preferably two, introductory statistics courses and sufficient mathematical or quantitative preparation.
• English must be demonstrated through a recent academic TOEFL iBT score of at least 89, academic IELTS score of at least 6.5 or Duolingo score of at least 120, unless UHasselt accepts another basis for a waiver.
• Applicants may submit only one ICP Connect scholarship application per year and may not hold another scholarship or grant for the programme at the same time.
• Applicants must not previously have received a Belgian-government scholarship for a study programme or have enrolled at a Belgian higher-education institution before 1 January of the intake year.
• The scholarship covers the Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Epidemiology specialisations, not the Data Science specialisation.

Application process

   Check both the VLIR-UOS scholarship rules and UHasselt’s programme admission requirements.

   Start the UHasselt online application and answer its three scholarship-screening questions.

   If eligible, follow the displayed link, complete the scholarship form and upload the emailed copy of the completed form to the application upload area.

   Submit diploma certificates and transcripts through digital verification, direct institutional email or certified hard copies as instructed by UHasselt.

   Complete the online file by the programme deadline; the admission board checks admissibility before a selection committee ranks scholarship applications.
