Managing Art and Cultural Heritage in Global Markets (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master)

Managing Art and Cultural Heritage in Global Markets is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master coordinated by the University of Glasgow and delivered by a five-institution consortium. Students complete mandatory study periods in Lisbon, Paris and Rotterdam, take online Glasgow courses, and choose Lisbon, Paris, Rotterdam or Glasgow for the final dissertation.

The curriculum combines art markets, cultural heritage, economics, management and law, with optional seasonal schools in Glasgow or Mumbai. Graduates receive a multiple degree evidenced by four postgraduate certificates from the consortium partners.

Benefits & funding

Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipients receive a full tuition waiver, travel insurance and a total stipend of €33,600 over two years.
Recipients may choose three €1,000 advance payments plus €1,275 per month, or €1,400 per month without advances; the total award is unchanged.
Self-funded study is also available; published 2025–27 annual tuition is €11,183 or £9,560 for UK, EU and specified programme-country students, and €22,224 or £19,000 for other international students, with a £2,000 deposit after an offer.
One optional two-week seasonal school is available without an additional programme fee, subject to it running.

Eligibility

Applicants normally need a first degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 in a relevant field such as art history, heritage, economics, business, law, architecture, tourism, film or journalism.
Other degree subjects may be considered with relevant work experience, and a lower classification may be considered when backed by substantial arts or heritage experience.
Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University of Glasgow’s English-language requirement and upload an accepted test certificate.
Applicants of all nationalities may apply; a MAGMa scholarship requires admission to the programme, and previous Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship recipients cannot receive another EMJM scholarship.
Scholarship recipients must complete the programme full-time and satisfy its compulsory physical-mobility rules.
