Malaysian Brain Bee Challenge (MBBC) — Course / Training

The Malaysian Brain Bee Challenge (MBBC) is Malaysia’s national neuroscience competition for secondary-school students. It is coordinated through the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences and a network of university-based zones.

Schools register students for a zonal neuroscience quiz, after which leading participants progress through two national-final stages. The national champion becomes eligible to represent Malaysia at the International Brain Bee World Championship.

Benefits & funding

The official 2025 registration materials specified no entry fee or Malaysian cash award, so the opportunity is classified as free.
The top five students from each zone advanced to the first national-final stage, and the eventual national champion qualified for the IBB World Championship.

Eligibility

Applicants are secondary-school students and enter through their school using the MBBC school-registration form.
Students compete through the Brain Bee in their country of residence, so this national route is for students residing in Malaysia; no nationality restriction is stated.
A student may enter only one local or national Brain Bee in a year.
To advance to the IBB World Championship, the national champion may not be older than 19.

Application process
