Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarships — Bachelor's Scholarship

The Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarships recognize international students for academic achievement, creativity, leadership potential and their capacity to contribute positively to the global community. The University of Toronto selects approximately 37 Pearson Scholars each year.

Recipients begin a first-entry undergraduate program at U of T in September 2027, and the award is tied to the applicant’s top-ranked program choice when scholarship decisions are made. The Pearson Program Office provides enrichment and support to current scholars.

Benefits & funding

Tuition, books, incidental fees and full residence support for four years.
The award is tenable only at the University of Toronto for a first-entry undergraduate program.

Eligibility

Be an international student: a non-Canadian who requires a study permit.
Be in the final year of senior secondary school in 2026/2027 or have graduated no earlier than June 2026.
Begin studies at the University of Toronto in September 2027.
Do not already attend post-secondary studies or plan to begin post-secondary studies in January 2027.
Secure nomination from the current secondary school; each school may nominate one student per year.
Apply to at least one University of Toronto undergraduate program by October 16, 2026.

Application process

Ask a guidance counsellor, principal or head of school about nomination; a school new to the program must apply to participate.

The school submits its nomination by October 9, 2026.

Apply to at least one U of T undergraduate program by October 16, 2026; the scholarship will be restricted to the top program choice recorded when decisions are made.

After nomination and submission of the admission application, use the private scholarship link sent by U of T.

Submit the scholarship application and all required documentation by November 6, 2026.
