Public Policy New Voices Europe is Salzburg Global’s year-long fellowship for students, graduates, and early-career professionals interested in public policy, public service, or policy development in Europe. The 2026 cohort theme is Leadership in a Digital Age: Technology, Society, and Governance in Europe.

Fellows learn through online workshops, monthly network meetings, nine months of mentoring, peer exchange, and professional-experience opportunities. The cohort culminates in an in-person Public Policy Challenge convening at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg from November 17 to 21, 2026.

Benefits & funding

  • There is no fee to apply or participate.
  • Limited support is available for travel, room, and board connected with the Salzburg convening.
  • Fellows receive monthly online learning, a nine-month mentor pairing, peer support, and access to professional-development opportunities.
  • Participants gain lifetime membership in the Salzburg Global Fellowship network.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must live, study, or work for the full fellowship period in Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, or Ukraine.
  • Applicants must be students, graduates, or early-career professionals interested in or working in public policy, public service, or policy development in Europe; no specific degree is required.
  • Applicants must be comfortable working in English.
  • Applicants must show commitment to inclusive and democratic societies, openness to diverse perspectives, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
  • The program is intended for emerging leaders without significant international exposure or access to leadership-development opportunities; historically underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply.
