The Label scientifique UFI/UIF is a twice-yearly call from the Franco-Italian University supporting joint cultural and scientific initiatives. The current second 2026 call covers activities taking place from 1 January to 31 December 2027.
Eligible applicants are French or Italian higher education institutions, research centres, university, cultural, or scientific networks, associations, and foundations. Each initiative must involve active and significant participation from actors in both France and Italy.
Benefits & funding
- Selected initiatives receive the UFI/UIF scientific label and promotion through the institution’s channels.
- Applicants may request project funding of up to €2,000; a label without funding is also possible.
- Projects funded by this program during the previous two years are eligible only for an unfunded label, except recurring activities with balanced French-Italian co-funding.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a French or Italian higher education institution, research centre, university, cultural, or scientific network, association, or foundation.
- The initiative must include active and significant participation by French and Italian actors.
- Eligible activities include jointly organized seminars, conferences, congresses, summer schools, cultural events, university curricula, publications, and French-Italian translation.
- There is no individual nationality, degree, age, gender, or work-experience requirement because organizations, not individuals, apply.

Application process
- 1Read the official call and decide whether to request the label alone or the label with funding.
- 2Prepare the project plan, detailed scientific program, organization, budget, co-funding information, and evidence of French-Italian participation.
- 3Complete the online form in both French and Italian, keeping the two versions identical apart from translation.
- 4Have the person responsible for the application submit the form by 11 September 2026 at 12:00 Paris time; no edits are possible after final submission.
