The KTH Scholarship is an annual tuition award administered by KTH Royal Institute of Technology for students entering eligible one- or two-year master’s programmes in Sweden. Recipients study in person at the campus used by their KTH programme.
The award is intended for fee-paying students who place KTH first in their national admissions application. The scholarship form is currently between cycles, and KTH still displays the dates for the cycle that closed on 15 January 2026.
Benefits & funding
- KTH covers the full tuition fee for the first year and, subject to satisfactory study results, the second year; living costs are not covered.
- Continuation requires at least 45 ECTS credits in the first year of a two-year programme or 10 ECTS credits in the first semester of a one-year programme.
- KTH Scholarship holders are covered by Sweden’s FAS+ insurance for fee-paying students.
Eligibility
- Be liable for tuition fees and pay the application fee.
- Apply to an eligible KTH master’s programme as the first priority and meet that programme’s admission requirements; applicants in the final year of bachelor’s studies may meet the academic qualification requirement.
- Eligible options include programmes with both years at KTH, Molecular Techniques in Life Science, Biostatistics and Data Science, and the one-year Architectural Lighting Design programme.
- Joint Erasmus+ and EIT programmes and Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering are excluded from this scholarship.
