The Kosciuszko Foundation (KF) Exchange Program to the US funds Polish scholars and artists to do field or archival research, visit a lab, complete an artist residency or project, or teach at a US institution.

It has three award types: Fellowships for postdoctoral research, Grants for graduate research, and Teaching Fellowships for Polish Studies courses. All fields are eligible.

Benefits & funding

  • Usually around US$4,000 a month for living and accommodation; the amount may depend on location and is paid only after arrival in the US.
  • Fellowships and Grants last 3–6 months, Teaching Fellowships up to 9 months, within July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028.
  • Not covered: dependents’ costs, conference or seminar trips, publications; recipients must buy health and accident insurance and file mid-term and final reports.

Eligibility

  • Polish citizens, or Karta Polaka holders, who permanently reside in Poland; Poles living abroad cannot apply.
