The Koopmans and CentER scholarships support excellent students entering the first or second year of Tilburg University’s Academic Economics track. Both are awarded by the Tilburg School of Economics and Management on academic merit, and every applicant who submits a complete program application by the scholarship deadline is considered automatically.

Recipients study the two-year Research Master in Economics in Tilburg, combining advanced economics and econometrics coursework with research training. The two scholarship tiers share the same eligibility and application route but provide different annual amounts.

Benefits & funding

  • The Koopmans Scholarship provides €16,800 net per year to several excellent students.
  • The CentER Scholarship provides €10,800 per year.
  • Both awards include a partial tuition waiver for non-EEA students.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be joining the first or second year of the Academic Economics track of the Research Master in Economics.
  • Admission requires an academic Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, econometrics, business studies, or another comparable relevant field.
  • Academic Economics applicants should rank among the best 10% of their cohort or, at a Dutch university, have a GPA of at least 8.
  • The program’s English-language and, where applicable, GRE requirements must be met; the Academic Economics GRE quantitative benchmark is 164.
  • Tilburg publishes no nationality, residency, gender, age, or work-experience restriction for scholarship consideration.

Application process

    Prepare the required diploma or graduation statement, transcript, language and GRE evidence where applicable, motivation letter, curriculum vitae, relevant written work, and at least two recommendation letters.

    Register for M Research Master in Economics (research) in Studielink.
  3. 3
    Use the credentials sent by Tilburg University to complete the OSIRIS Aanmeld application.
  4. 4
    Submit the complete application by February 1; no separate scholarship application is required.
