Eligibility

• Citizenship of a country designated for the 2024 round: Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, Uganda, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Niger, Lesotho, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Burkina Faso, Benin, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Angola, Zambia, Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Togo, South Sudan, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, São Tomé and Príncipe, Comoros, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Honduras, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Guyana, Grenada, Dominica, Belize, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Nepal, Timor-Leste, Laos, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, Philippines, Palau, Fiji, Nauru, Niue, Marshall Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Tonga, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea, Jordan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, or Turkmenistan.
• A government official with an official nomination from the applicant’s government.
• A master’s degree obtained by the cycle’s stated cutoff and successful completion of a KOICA-funded master’s program.
• No cancellation of a previous KOICA master’s scholarship and no prior enrollment in a doctoral scholarship funded by another Korean government program.
• Strong spoken and written English and sufficient physical and mental health for the full course.
• KNUE describes the major as serving nominated education-sector professionals, including teachers and education-ministry officials.
• Being under 40 and having three years of relevant experience after the KOICA master’s degree were preferences, not hard eligibility gates.

Application process

   Read the cycle-wide KOICA guideline and KNUE Program Information, then confirm the country-specific deadline with the local KOICA office or Korean embassy.

   Submit the KOICA forms, government recommendation, and passport copy by email to that office or embassy.

   Complete the KOICA office or embassy interview.
4. 4
   If nominated, follow KNUE’s instructions for university documents, original-document delivery, the local medical check, and the university interview or test.

   After final selection, complete visa, vaccination, arrival, orientation, and the medical check in Korea before enrollment.
