Khalifa University Master’s Scholarships — Master's Scholarship

Khalifa University is Abu Dhabi’s research university, teaching master’s programmes across engineering, computing and mathematics, physical sciences, and medicine and health sciences.

Every applicant admitted to a master’s programme is considered for a scholarship inside the admission decision — there is no separate scholarship form. Awards are graded into four tiers, and the tier decides how much of the cost the university carries.

Two parallel schedules run on the same tier structure, one for international students and one for UAE nationals. Master’s study takes a minimum of one year and up to three years full-time on the Abu Dhabi campus.

Benefits & funding

Tier I and Tier II: full tuition coverage, textbooks, free university accommodation for eligible full-time students, medical insurance, UAE visa fees, and flights between the home country and Abu Dhabi for full-time overseas students, subject to approval.
Tier III: 50% tuition waiver, plus textbooks, medical insurance, visa fees and flights.
Tier IV: textbooks, medical insurance, visa fees and flights, with no tuition waiver.
Master’s tuition is charged at 5,000 AED per credit hour, and master’s degrees require a minimum of 30 credit hours.
The standard master’s scholarship carries no monthly cash stipend. The Combined Master–PhD Research Teaching Scholarship for UAE nationals, a separate award, pays a monthly stipend of 25,000 AED during the master’s phase.
Full-time and part-time master’s students are both eligible, but accommodation is reserved for eligible full-time students.

Eligibility

Open to applicants of any nationality; separate scholarship schedules cover international students and UAE nationals.
Requires admission to a Khalifa University master’s programme — scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of that admission process.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
English proficiency of iBT TOEFL 91, taken at a test centre, or an overall academic IELTS score of 6.5.
At least two referee recommendations through Khalifa University’s online form, a statement of purpose of 500–1,000 words, and an admission interview.
Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an award; scholarships depend on availability and are confirmed at the conclusion of the admission process.

Check the deadline published for the intake you want — Khalifa University publishes each semester’s deadline, Fall or Spring, on its postgraduate admissions page.

Create an account on the postgraduate application portal and submit the online application with the required documents uploaded in the specified formats.

Indicate interest in scholarship support inside the admission application; no separate scholarship application exists.

Supply the email addresses of at least two referees, who are invited to complete an online reference form once your application is submitted.

Sit the admission interview.

Accept the offer, which states the scholarship awarded, sign the scholarship contract before the Add/Drop deadline, and pay the security deposit in the first semester of registration.
