The Japan Youth Summit (JYS) is a four-day youth leadership and innovation program run by the Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) Foundation, an Indonesia-registered youth organization. Delegates from many countries gather in Osaka to work in multicultural teams on projects tied to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, 8, 9 and 11) and present them in an Innovation and Technology Project Competition. The 2026 Batch 2 event runs 19–22 October in Osaka under the theme “Beyond Limits: Youth Leading the Next Era of Innovation and Global Stability.” It is a paid program: everyone pays to join, and a separate competitive “fully funded” track can reimburse the program fee for selected delegates.
Benefits & funding
- Four days in Osaka (19–22 Oct 2026): international symposium, SDG team project competition, cultural night, city and university visits, and an awarding ceremony.
- The program fee (paid in installments) covers accommodation, meals, venue access, summit kits, and tours during the summit.
- Certificate of participation; awards and medals for top projects; networking with international delegates and YBB alumni.
- Two registration paths, both requiring payment:
- Self-Funded: guaranteed participation, no selection. Registration fee 15 USD; you pay all program-fee installments yourself.
- Fully-Funded: registration fee 10 USD; you still pay the program-fee installments upfront, then compete via an essay and interview. Selected delegates have the program fee reimbursed or covered — but this never includes international flights, visa fees, or personal expenses, and payments are non-refundable if you are not selected.
Eligibility
- Open to young people internationally; delegates come from many countries and backgrounds.
- The official program pages state no nationality restriction and require no English-test certificate.
- No degree requirement — open to students and early-career youth.
- Selection applies only to the fully-funded track (essay plus interview); self-funded participation is guaranteed once payment is complete. Check the official registration guidelines for any stated age limits.

Application process
- 1Create an account on the official website (japanyouthsummit.com) and log in to the dashboard.
- 2Choose a registration type (Self-Funded or Fully-Funded) and complete all required forms and documents.
- 3Pay the registration fee to submit the form — a submission is valid only after both form completion and fee payment.
- 4Receive a Letter of Acceptance (LoA), issued in monthly batches, and pay the program-fee installments per the published schedule.
- 5Fully-funded applicants additionally submit an essay and attend an interview; final selection combines the form, essay, and interview.
