Official Page

The Islamic Development Bank Internship Program gives undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates practical experience in a Business Unit related to their studies. Placements run for three to six months at the Jeddah headquarters, ten regional hubs, or the Kuala Lumpur Center of Excellence.

IsDB uses the programme to support academic learning, community-focused work, and a pipeline for possible future recruitment. Openings appear as individual vacancies; the current public listing is a six-month legal internship in Jeddah.

Benefits & funding

  • Applying is free, and IsDB states that it does not request payment at any stage of recruitment.
  • Interns receive supervised practical experience aligned with their academic field and the work of the assigned Business Unit.
  • The official programme and vacancy pages do not state whether interns receive salary, stipend, travel, housing, insurance, or other financial support.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate university degree, or have graduated no more than one year before applying.
  • Applicants must be enrolled at or have graduated from a top university in the world or an IsDB member country.
  • Current students must provide an official university request or recommendation for the internship.
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent, is required.
  • Applicants must be no older than 30 by the deadline and must be legally authorized to stay in the country of the hosting Business Unit.
  • Previous IsDB internship participation must not exceed the overall six-month limit.
  • English proficiency and availability for the stated placement duration are assessed. Each vacancy may add role-specific requirements; the current legal vacancy requires a final-year law undergraduate and English and Arabic skills, while French is an advantage.
  • No fixed nationality list or prior work-experience requirement is published.
