The Informatics Alumni scholarship is an annual award from the Alumni Service of Università della Svizzera italiana. It supports one student entering the first year of a Faculty of Informatics Master’s programme in Lugano in September 2026.

The 2026/27 award is worth CHF 4,000 and covers that academic year’s tuition fees. It is funded from an alumni-reunion auction and goes to the first applicant who meets every eligibility condition.

Benefits & funding

  • One annual scholarship of CHF 4,000 covers tuition fees for the 2026/27 academic year.
  • The recipient must pay the fall-term deposit stated in the admission letter; it is refunded by the end of the fall term, while the spring-term fee is covered automatically.
  • The award may be combined with specified Foundation for the Lugano Faculties scholarships; if another scholarship covers first-year enrolment fees, this award moves to 2027/28 provided the student remains enrolled.
  • The award cannot be converted to cash and is not payable if the recipient does not enrol or withdraws after studies begin.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be admitted to the first year of a Faculty of Informatics Master’s programme beginning in September 2026: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Financial Technology and Computing, Informatics, Management and Informatics, or Software Engineering with AI.
  • At the time they earned the qualification giving access to university study, applicants must have lived legally in Switzerland; the call accepts Swiss citizens and foreign citizens with a family-reunification B permit or a C permit and requires the entry qualification and residence certificate as proof.
  • Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative result of at least 75% of the maximum grade, or, if still enrolled, have reached that threshold in their latest exam session.
  • Applicants who already hold a Master’s degree are considered only if an award remains available.
  • No nationality, age, gender, or work-experience requirement is stated; foreign applicants must still satisfy the specified Swiss residence and permit conditions.
