The Asian Institute of Technology is an international postgraduate campus in Pathum Thani, north of Bangkok. It administers a group of non-binding scholarships paid for by the Royal Thai Government, and this one is the master’s award for the institute’s food, climate and policy side.
It goes to applicants from Asian countries with excellent undergraduate records who are taking their first master’s degree. Eligible programs sit in three faculties: Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources; Climate Change and Sustainability; and Public Policy and Sustainable Development.
Non-binding means there is no obligation to work for the Thai government after graduation. Scholars live on the residential campus for the 22-month master’s program.

Eligibility
- Open to nationals of Asian countries; AIT names Thailand and other Asian countries and publishes no country list.
- For a first master’s degree only.
- An outstanding record from a four-year undergraduate program in a related field, with a bachelor’s GPA of 3.5 or above, or the equivalent.
- English proficiency at the level set by the AIT Language Center: IELTS 6.0 overall with 6.0 in writing, or AIT EET 6.0 or above.
- The chosen program must belong to the Faculty of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Faculty of Climate Change and Sustainability, or the Faculty of Public Policy and Sustainable Development.

Application process
- 1Choose one master’s program in one of the three eligible faculties; AIT accepts only one program application at a time.
- 2Apply through the AIT online admission portal and pay the application fee of US$25 or 800 Baht.
- 3Say in the statement of purpose that you are applying for this scholarship; AIT allows that text as a separate uploaded file.
- 4Submit by 31 March for the August intake. There is no separate scholarship form.
