The Global Youth Mental Health Research Fellowship develops early-career clinical, academic, allied-health, education, and lived-experience leaders in child and adolescent mental health. It is designed and implemented by the Global Institute of Human Development at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University with partners in Pakistan, Indonesia, Colombia, the United States, and The Global Health Network.
Fellows join research teams full time, receive structured training and mentoring, and contribute to research and dissemination. The 2026 cohort runs from 1 June 2026 to 30 May 2027, and applications are closed.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be based in Pakistan, Indonesia, or Colombia. No nationality requirement is published.
- Eligible profiles include early-career psychiatrists or psychologists, mental-health academics, allied-health professionals, people supporting young people through health or education, and young people with lived experience of mental-health problems.
- Applicants must have completed at least 16 years of education or demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant work experience must not exceed five years, except for candidates applying through the lived-experience track.
- Applicants must demonstrate commitment to youth mental-health research, practice, or advocacy and be available full time for the 12-month program.
