The FUNDEP/IEAT International Visits Program is run by the Institute for Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies (IEAT) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. It brings internationally recognised researchers doing transdisciplinary work to UFMG to build ties with its research groups.

Visitors spend up to 12 days in Belo Horizonte between May 2027 and April 2028, giving lectures, workshops or seminars and working with their host. Researchers cannot apply themselves: a UFMG faculty member nominates them.

Benefits & funding

  • R$1,200 per day of the stay (up to 12 days), a fee toward lodging and food, paid to an individual bank account in Brazil or abroad
  • Airfare and basic health/travel insurance bought by IEAT
  • Airport transfers in Belo Horizonte on request
  • Duties: a keynote lecture open to UFMG, and a text on its theme within 90 days after the visit

  2. 2
The nominee signs the acknowledgment and consent form.
  3. 3
