The Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program sends established scholars and professionals from ASEAN countries to the United States to research U.S.–ASEAN priority issues. In Thailand it is run by the Thailand-United States Educational Foundation (TUSEF/Fulbright Thailand), which the Thai and U.S. governments fund jointly.
Grantees spend three to four months at a U.S. host institution that invites them. Fulbright Thailand lists the 2027 call as open, and the research period begins January–March 2028.

- Thai citizens only; non-Thais living in Thailand must apply through the Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy of their country of citizenship.
- Aged 55 or under.
- A master’s degree or higher.
- Research focused on U.S.–ASEAN issues.
- Aimed at leaders in academia, government, business and NGOs.

Application process
- 1Secure an official invitation letter from a U.S. host institution stating the research period.
- 2Prepare a CV, personal statement, research proposal with bibliography, diplomas and transcripts, and a passport or national ID.
- 3Have two referees submit recommendation letters online.
