Fulbright Inter-Country Travel Grant

Benefits & funding

• Fulbright reimburses flight or train travel from the scholar’s current host country to Denmark after the visit, based on receipts.
• The Danish host institution covers all other visit costs, including in-country expenses.

Eligibility

• The visiting scholar must be a current U.S. Fulbright Scholar based in an eligible European country.
• The visit must take place during the scholar’s Fulbright grant period.
• A higher education institution in the Kingdom of Denmark must agree to host the visit and cover in-country expenses.
• The scholar’s current host commission must approve the travel plan and provide proof of support.

Application process

   The scholar and Danish host identify each other and agree the visit’s dates, academic content and logistics.

   The host confirms that it will cover in-country expenses, and the scholar obtains approval from the current host commission.

   They jointly complete the application form and submit it with proof of commission support and the scholar’s signed Data Protection Notice.

   Fulbright Denmark sends the decision by email; accepted scholars purchase travel and submit receipts after the visit for reimbursement.

   Applications are accepted throughout the year.

2. Before the visit

   Fulbright Denmark sends the decision by email and accepted scholars arrange travel.

3. After the visit

   The scholar submits travel receipts for reimbursement.
