Benefits & funding

• Erasmus+ scholarship holders receive 1,400 EUR per month for up to 24 months, which contributes to travel, visa costs and living costs.
• Scholarship holders pay no tuition fee and are covered by emergency and accident insurance at the Erasmus+ minimum level.
• Self-funded students pay 10,000 EUR for the four semesters: 5,000 EUR before the first semester and 5,000 EUR before the third.
• The fee covers curriculum participation, insurance, administrative support, enrolment, exams, the diploma, and thesis film production costs.
• It does not cover international travel, accommodation, living costs (the consortium estimates 600–1,000 EUR a month), study materials, or visa and passport fees.
• A maximum of 24 students join each intake, and an Erasmus scholarship is granted to some of them.
• The degree carries 120 ECTS over four semesters, ending in a graduation essay and an archive-based graduation project split 10/20 or 20/10 credits.

Eligibility

• Open to applicants from anywhere in the world; no nationality or residency requirement.
• A bachelor degree in audio-visual arts, film studies, communication studies, arts, history, cultural studies or a related subject such as archival studies, heritage studies or museology, or an equivalent qualification at Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework.
• Candidates still studying may apply only if they graduate by 31 August of the entry year.
• English at CEFR B2 or above, evidenced by IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79, a Cambridge English score of 170 or more, Duolingo English Test 110 or more, or a degree taught in English in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
• Erasmus+ scholarship candidates must not already have held a previous Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarship.

Application process

   Apply through the single consortium e-form hosted by LUCA School of Arts on DreamApply.

   Upload the diploma and transcripts with official English translations, the English language certificate, a copy of the passport or ID showing its expiry date, a high-definition passport photo on a white background, and a residence certificate issued within the last 12 months.

   Record a motivation video of at most one minute and submit it as an unlisted YouTube link.

   Write a preliminary graduation project proposal of at most 500 words.

   Complete one assignment: a 500-word critical written essay, a critical video essay of at most eight minutes, or a data analytics project with a 1,000-word essay and visualisations.

   Add a digital portfolio as a PDF of at most 5 MB if you have one; it is optional.

   The 50 highest-scoring applicants are interviewed in March, and decisions follow at the end of May.
