The Global Center for Journalism and Trauma and iMEdD’s Ideas Zone are holding this four-day retreat in Vamvakou, Greece, for 16 journalists. Participants will examine trauma-informed reporting, ethical decisions in crisis coverage, psychological resilience, peer support, and newsroom duty of care.
The program uses expert briefings, group discussions, and reflective workshops in a confidential peer environment. Participants are invited to bring their own reporting or a professional challenge for collective discussion.

Eligibility
- Applicants must have at least five years of professional journalism experience.
- Applicants must live and work in a Council of Europe member state: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, or the United Kingdom. Nationality itself is not restricted.
- Reporters, editors, social media editors, photographers, video journalists, and multimedia journalists may apply; both staff journalists and freelancers are eligible.
- Applicants should regularly cover conflict, violence, migration, climate crises, or other high-impact stories in Europe.
- English fluency is required, and applicants must demonstrate journalistic excellence and an interest in peer learning and professional reflection.
