The Women in AI Fellowship is a leadership programme of the EDSAFE AI Alliance, now led by InnovateEDU, for women working towards safe, ethical and equitable AI in education.
Fellows spend a year in a cohort: virtual workshops with experts, mentoring from past fellows, at least one in-person gathering, and a small capstone built and deployed in their own setting. Applications for the 2027 cohort reopen in November 2026.
Benefits & funding
- No participation cost; no honorarium or other payment.
- 12 months, typically 2–4 hours a month; not full-time.
- Virtual workshops with AI and education experts, plus mentoring from past EDSAFE fellows.
- At least one in-person cohort gathering during the year (the pages do not say whether travel is covered).
Eligibility
- Women technologists in AI development, data science or related fields who want to apply their skills to education.
- Women education leaders: administrators, teachers, researchers and policymakers interested in AI for learning outcomes.
- Open to applicants worldwide; no nationality or residence rule is published.
- No degree, age or experience minimum is stated.

Application process
