EPOG-JM is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in economics, run by a consortium of eleven universities and supported by the European Union. The joint degree is awarded by Université de technologie de Compiègne, Sorbonne Université and Cnam, and the consortium works with more than 40 partners and associate partners worldwide.
The programme treats the digital, socioeconomic and ecological transitions as one connected bifurcation, and teaches economic policy through a pluralist, interdisciplinary approach rather than a single school of thought. Teaching runs four semesters, mainly in English; English and French are the course’s two main languages, at least one path per Major is taught entirely in English in semester three, and Minor C4 teaches most of its first-year courses in Portuguese.
Each student picks a Major and a Minor, and that choice sets the mobility path: year one at one or two partner universities, a long semester three together in Paris from September to February, then a master’s thesis in semester four written inside a professional internship or a research lab. Every student studies in at least two countries other than their country of residence.
Benefits & funding
- Erasmus Mundus scholarship: around 20 per cohort, €1,400 a month across both academic years, plus tuition fees and a health and accident insurance scheme.
- Additional targeted scholarships for candidates from the Western Balkans, South-Mediterranean countries, Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, the Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Without a scholarship: €1,000 a year where personal income during the studies stays under €26,400 a year, of which about €500 is the insurance; €9,600 a year above that threshold, with partial or full waivers open to request.
- The consortium puts the real cost of a place at about €40,000 per student per year, so every enrolled student is heavily subsidised.
- Students without a Mundus scholarship normally receive classical Erasmus+ mobility support in year two, about €350 a month.
- The Eiffel scholarship is a further route for the Paris year; Campus France and DAAD are named as other sources.
- Students with disabilities who meet the general conditions can receive specific support for equipment, assistance and extra transport costs.
- The one-year Master 2 route in Paris costs €350 to €850 a year for all nationalities and carries no dedicated scholarship.
