The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies offers Tamim and Sanad scholarships for students admitted to its regular master’s programs in Doha, Qatar. Tamim is awarded for academic merit and admission ranking, while Sanad is assessed on financial need.

Scholarship requests are handled after final admission decisions, and awards depend on eligibility and the available budget. The most recently published 2026–27 admission cycle is closed.

Benefits & funding

  • Tamim: the scholarship policy provides 100% tuition coverage for Qatari, Qatar-resident, and international recipients.
  • Sanad: the policy provides 10%–100% tuition coverage for Qatari and Qatar-resident recipients, and 100% tuition coverage for international recipients.
  • For international recipients, both routes include full institute housing, a monthly allowance, one ticket from the home country at the start and one return ticket at graduation, and primary health-care coverage when no other insurance is available.
  • The 2024–25 student handbook listed monthly allowances of QAR 2,800 for Tamim and QAR 2,550 for Sanad, paid to international recipients for 22 months; applicants should verify the amount for their own intake.
  • Institute scholarships normally cover four semesters.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be admitted to an eligible regular master’s program and may hold a bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of bachelor’s study when applying for admission.
  • Tamim selection is based on academic merit and the applicant’s ranking during admission.
  • Sanad selection is based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Executive master’s, diploma, and specialized-certificate students are not eligible for these institute scholarships.
  • Recipients may not combine the award with another scholarship and must maintain the required academic standing.
  • Applicants who previously received an Institute scholarship at the same degree level are not eligible for another one.
  • The scholarships are open to Qatari, Qatar-resident, and international students; no nationality or prior-residency gate is stated.
  • Applicants must meet the academic, Arabic, and program-specific English requirements of their chosen master’s program.
