The Future of Life Institute Digital Media Accelerator is a rolling project-grant program for digital creators. It supports content that makes AI safety, AI risk, and developments in advanced AI understandable to broader audiences.
FLI aims to help creators produce content, grow channels, and reach new audiences. Possible formats include YouTube explainers, short-form social media, newsletters, podcasts, and focused series on topics such as AGI, control, misalignment, and technology-company power.
Benefits & funding
- Applicants propose a grant amount in USD and provide an itemized spending plan; FLI does not publish a fixed award per project.
- FLI plans to spend up to USD 100,000 per month across multiple projects. Larger proposals are welcome, while smaller pilot projects are preferred initially.
- For requests above USD 25,000, FLI may ask for a smaller trial phase to test early results.
- The form also allows applicants to request non-financial resources, such as relevant reading materials, without guaranteeing that they will be provided.
