CIF Sweden, the Swedish branch of the Council of International Fellowship, runs a four-week professional exchange for social workers and other professionals in the social field.
Participants start in Stockholm with an orientation to Sweden’s welfare system, social policy and social work, then take individual field placements elsewhere in Sweden while living with host families. The last edition ran 10 April–9 May 2026; no 2027 edition has been announced.

- Room, board and travel inside Sweden covered by CIF Sweden for the four weeks.
- International travel, airport transfers and medical insurance are the participant’s own cost.
- CIF International runs a financial-support scheme (described as a 2024 project); its grant request is filed together with the application.
Eligibility
- Social workers and other professionals in the social field, with at least two years of professional experience in social work.
- CIF International asks for an educational background in social work, social welfare, human services or a related field, and proficiency in the program’s language; no minimum degree is named.
- The flyer sets no Swedish requirement: because of the language barrier, placements are agency visits, observation and meetings with colleagues.
- No nationality, residence, age or gender rule is stated.
- Applications go through the CIF branch or contact person in your own country; only where neither exists do you apply to CIF Sweden directly.
