The Chinese Government Scholarship for Advanced Graduate Program supports international students pursuing full-time master’s or doctoral degrees at Peking University. PKU selects candidates with strong academic backgrounds, professional ability, and future potential, then recommends them to the China Scholarship Council.
Study takes place in person at PKU programs based in Beijing or Shenzhen. The scholarship runs for two to three years for master’s students and four to five years for doctoral students.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, be physically and mentally healthy, and meet PKU’s international graduate admission requirements.
- Master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35; doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree and be under 40.
- Applicants must satisfy the academic and language requirements of their chosen PKU program.
- For the 2026 cycle, applicants had to submit a full-time self-funded graduate admission application to PKU before applying for the scholarship.
- Applicants could not hold another scholarship from a Chinese government body or PKU, apart from a one-time non-renewable merit award, and joint-training candidates were excluded.
- No residency, work-experience, or gender requirement is stated.

Application process
- 1Apply to an eligible full-time self-funded graduate program through PKU’s International Student Service System.
- 2Submit the PKU online scholarship application with official academic transcripts and supporting documents by 9:00 a.m. Beijing time on March 9, 2026.
- 3From February 25, download the Certificate for CSC Advanced Graduate Program Application from the application-status page.
- 4Submit a Type B application through the China Scholarship Council system using PKU institution code 10001 by 24:00 Beijing time on March 17, 2026.
- 5Monitor email for the final scholarship decision, expected in July or August 2026; no paper application was required unless PKU later requested supplementary materials.
