The China Scholarship Council established China Link to support academic and research exchanges in China, with Peking University serving as the host and nominating institution for this route. Recipients study or conduct research in Beijing for 1–12 months in English or Chinese.
General Visiting status covers enrolled undergraduate and master’s students, while Senior Visiting status covers enrolled doctoral students and faculty. All disciplines are available except Chinese-language study.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with an excellent academic record, good physical and mental health, and a positive disposition toward China.
- Applicants must remain full-time students or faculty at a university on the CSC foreign partner list throughout application and participation.
- General Visiting applicants must be enrolled undergraduate or master’s students and no more than 45 years old.
- Senior Visiting applicants must be enrolled doctoral students or faculty and no more than 50 years old; the PKU Senior Visiting route requires a master’s degree or above.
- Applicants need a PKU visiting-student pre-admission email or admission letter before submitting the scholarship application.
- Proposed study or research may be in any PKU discipline except Chinese-language study.

Application process
- 1Confirm that your home institution appears on the CSC foreign partner list and choose the General or Senior Visiting route.
- 2Apply for the appropriate visiting-student program through the PKU International Student Service System; departmental research applicants must first obtain acceptance from the intended supervisor and department.
- 3Obtain a PKU pre-admission email or admission letter.
- 4Apply in the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System and upload the PKU admission document and other required materials.
- 5Download the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form and email it to ischolarship@pku.edu.cn using the program’s required subject line; PKU’s institution code is 10001.
- 6PKU reviews applications and nominates candidates to CSC, which returns the award decisions for PKU to communicate.
