Chevening Scholarship - Brazil

Benefits & funding

• Payment of tuition fees.
• Economy travel between the recipient’s country of residence and the UK by an approved route.
• Arrival and departure allowances, the recipient’s visa application cost, and a travel top-up allowance.
• Up to £75 toward tuberculosis testing when required.
• A monthly living stipend for accommodation and living expenses; the rate depends on whether study is inside or outside London and is reviewed annually.

Eligibility

• Be a Brazilian citizen applying through the Brazil award route.
• For an award from an ODA-eligible country, reside in an ODA-eligible country; the residence country does not have to be the country of citizenship.
• Commit to returning to Brazil for at least two years after the scholarship ends.
• Have at least 2,800 hours, approximately two years, of work experience gained after completing an undergraduate degree.
• Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies for a UK master’s programme and have completed undergraduate study at least two years before the application deadline.
• Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and obtain at least one unconditional offer by 8 July 2027.
• Applicants resident in the UK at application are ineligible, apart from the stated British Overseas Territories exception. British or dual British citizens are ineligible except eligible British Overseas Territory citizens and BN(O) citizens applying from Hong Kong.
• Chevening’s employee and close-relative restrictions apply, as do its restrictions concerning prior UK government-funded study and refugee status in an ineligible country.

Application process

   Check the Chevening eligibility rules and select three different eligible one-year taught master’s courses in the UK.

   Follow the official Brazil page to the online application system, register with an email address and phone number, and save the unique access code.

   Complete and submit the online application by 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC.

   If shortlisted, upload the required photo identification, undergraduate certificate or diploma, and reference letters at least seven working days before the interview.

   If successful at interview, submit at least one unconditional UK university offer by 8 July 2027 at 17:00 BST.
