The University of Sussex offers a limited number of Chancellor’s International Scholarships to international Master’s applicants with exceptional academic records and potential. Recipients study a full-time eligible Master’s course at Sussex in Brighton.
Applicants must first obtain and accept an offer for September 2026 entry before submitting the separate scholarship application. The 2026 round is closed.
Benefits & funding
- £5,000 tuition-fee reduction.
- The award has no cash equivalent and applies to the 2026/27 academic year only.
- Selected applicants from Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Vietnam may combine it with a Country Scholarship up to a total value of £10,000.
- It cannot be combined with the Sussex Alumni Scholarship; where both apply, Sussex awards the higher-value scholarship.
Eligibility
- Be classified as Overseas for fee purposes.
- Hold an offer for a full-time Master’s degree starting at Sussex in September 2026; a conditional offer is acceptable.
- Be self-financing and have exceptional academic grades.
- Applicants studying online, entering the final year of an integrated Master’s, already holding another Sussex scholarship, or applying to an excluded course are not eligible.
- Exclusions include certificates and diplomas, PGCE, Brighton and Sussex Medical School courses, specified Social Work and development courses, Research Council-funded degrees, Early Years Education with teacher status, online courses and School Direct teaching courses.
