Chancellor’s Fellowship for Graduate Students at UAEU

The Chancellor’s Fellowship for Graduate Students at UAEU is a financial-aid program for master’s and doctoral students at United Arab Emirates University. It has six tracks: Merit for newly admitted students, Merit for existing students, UAEU Staff and Families, National Students, Entrepreneurs, and Inventors.

Awards support study at UAEU and remain valid until graduation while recipients continue to meet their track’s conditions. Funding depends on the university’s available budget, and STEM and UAE strategic fields receive priority; Education programs, the DBA, MBA, and MPA are excluded.

Benefits & funding

Merit awards for newly admitted and existing students provide a 50% tuition discount.
The UAEU Staff and Families track provides 30% for UAE-national staff, 25% for international staff, and 20% for spouses and children of employees.
The National Students track provides a 20% tuition discount.
Entrepreneur and Inventor awards provide a 50% tuition discount, or an equivalent monthly stipend when tuition is already waived.
Each award continues until graduation while the recipient maintains the applicable eligibility conditions.

Eligibility

Applicants must be entering or enrolled in a UAEU master’s or doctoral program and must have no other financial sponsorship or award.
Newly admitted Merit applicants need a GPA of at least 3.8/4.0 and must maintain that level at UAEU.
Existing-student Merit applicants must have completed at least 12 non-thesis graduate credits, hold a GPA of at least 3.8/4.0, and maintain it.
UAEU staff and eligible family members need and must maintain a GPA of at least 3.5/4.0; National Students applicants need and must maintain at least 3.6/4.0.
Entrepreneur applicants must have established an innovation-based startup; Inventor applicants must hold at least one verifiable granted patent or discovery licence. Both tracks require and must maintain a GPA of at least 3.3/4.0.
No nationality restriction is stated for the Merit, Entrepreneur, or Inventor routes; the National Students route is for UAE nationals, while staff-track benefit rates differ for UAE-national and international employees.
