The Bloomberg Journalism Program – Brazil is a short, intensive introduction to business and financial journalism run by Bloomberg News together with the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and the Department of Journalism at Faculdade Cásper Líbero in São Paulo. Over five days, undergraduates learn the fundamentals of reporting on markets, financial concepts and the economy — and inclusive newsroom practice — with hands-on instruction from Bloomberg journalists. It is aimed at students who want a career in journalism; no prior business background is required.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate students at Brazilian universities.
  • Incoming second-year undergraduates and above; graduating bachelor’s students are also welcome.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in journalism.
  • No business background required.
  • Students from diverse backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences are encouraged to apply.

Application process

    Attach a curriculum vitae and an unofficial transcript of grades.

    Include a 500-word writing sample on a professional journalism role model.

    Provide contact information for one academic reference.

    Shortlisted finalists are interviewed by video conference after the deadline.
