Big Data Summer Immersion at Yale (BDSY) — Summer School

Big Data Summer Immersion at Yale is an intensive six-week program run by the Yale School of Public Health in New Haven. Undergraduate students learn how statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, engineering and computer science can be applied to human health.

The program combines lectures, data ethics, professional development and mentored projects in infectious-disease modeling, genomics and causal inference. The most recent published cycle ran from June 15 to July 24, 2026.

Eligibility

Applicants must be undergraduate students; graduating seniors may also apply.
Rising juniors and seniors receive admissions priority, but this is a preference rather than a hard restriction.
International students may apply; a limited number of international scholarships are supported by non-NIH funds.
NIH-funded places are restricted to United States citizens and permanent residents, while non-NIH routes allow international applicants.
