OceanX Education Hackathons are collaborative exploration sessions run by OceanX Education aboard the R/V OceanXplorer and at land-based venues. Curated, cross-disciplinary groups work with ocean science, expedition data and creative technologies to explore immersive ways of engaging audiences with the ocean.
The sessions emphasize shared learning, rapid experimentation and reflection rather than competition or polished deliverables. OceanX introduced the program publicly in 2025, and work involving hackathon alumni appeared in a 2026 Singapore exhibition.
