The Asia Policy Leadership Forum is a year-long Salzburg Global fellowship for emerging policy leaders working across technology, governance, and society. It combines online onboarding, monthly network meetings, nine months of mentoring, peer support, and an in-person policy challenge in Salzburg, Austria.
The inaugural cohort works on digital public infrastructure, data governance, responsible innovation, and the social effects of emerging technology. The 2026 Salzburg convening brings Fellows together for workshops, expert sessions, strategy work, and cross-sector collaboration.

- Salzburg Global provides support for room and board during the in-person convening.
- Limited travel support may be available for the Salzburg session.
- Fellows receive monthly mentoring for nine months and lifetime membership in the Salzburg Global Fellowship network.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of, based in, or doing policy work for the full fellowship period in Japan, Hong Kong SAR, India, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, or Taiwan.
- Applicants must have 5–10 years of professional experience in government, civil society, the private sector, or academia.
- Applicants must show meaningful policy impact at the intersection of technology, governance, and society.
- Applicants must be comfortable working in English and interested in regional scaling, cross-sector collaboration, and wider representation in policy.
- Salzburg Global prioritizes people with limited previous international exposure and encourages applications from historically underrepresented groups.
