The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Section of the American Public Health Association runs a Student Fellows Program to prepare the next generation of MCH leaders. Established in 2002, it guides graduate and professional students through the workings of APHA and its MCH Section, connecting them with section committees and working groups across MCH research, policy, advocacy, and education. Over the 2026–2027 program year, fellows build professional networks, gain mentorship, and develop leadership skills. A highlight is attending the APHA Annual Meeting & Expo, the largest public health gathering in the United States.
